On 1 November, the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship hospital in Gaza city reportedly ran out of fuel and was forced to stop most of its activities, rendering 70 cancer patients at serious life risk.
The hospital was hit for the second night in a row. The hospital was directly hit in an aerial bombardment, with damage to the third floor and smoke causing suffocation and panic among the staff and people sheltering there. On 30 October, WHO’s Director-General stated that “cancer patients are already fragile, and it’s imperative to do everything possible to ensure they’re receiving the care they need. It’s truly a matter of life or death.”
Reported as the only dedicated cancer hospital in the Gaza Strip, a video show the infrastructure envelopped in dense clouds of smoke after a nearby hit.
